Sales Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities for Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) and structural steel structures such as factories, warehouses, and industrial facilities.
  • Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand design intent, project scope, and technical requirements.
  • Develop technical-commercial proposals, including suitable structural system concepts, cost estimation based on design data, summary of applicable design codes and technical criteria, and Value Engineering (VE) alternatives to achieve cost or weight optimization.
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, estimation, supply chain & procurement, and fabrication teams to prepare optimized structural solutions that meet client requirements, technical specifications, and applicable design codes.
  • Maintain and expand professional relationships with consultants, architects, contractors, clients and developers to strengthen the company’s reputation and market presence.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects, and prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports for management review.
  • Deliver technical presentations and engage in detailed discussions with clients, consultants, and contractors to explain structural solutions, design approaches, and compliance with codes.
  • Support clients during pre-award and post-award coordination, including technical clarifications, foundation interface alignment, and scope definition.
  • Negotiate technical and commercial terms in cooperation with internal teams to achieve win-win project outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in one or more of the following environments:
    • Structural engineering consultant firms
    • Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) manufacturers, structural steel fabrication companies, or design-build contractors
    • Industrial building product suppliers (e.g., roofing systems, wall panels, insulation, and cladding systems related to steel buildings)
  • Demonstrated hands-on exposure to structural steel systems, PEB buildings, or industrial steel structures.
  • Prior experience in design support, estimation, tendering, proposal preparation, or technical sales is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings as well as technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with international and local building codes and regulations.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of structural analysis software such as SAP2000 or STAAD.Pro is an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical reporting skills in English and the local language.
  • A self-motivated, analytical, and results-driven individual with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
